LOCAL ELITE SOCCER TEAM SEEKS HELP FROM COMMUNITY TO MAKE CHAMPIONSHIP DREAMS A REALITY

The under-18 boys from Salt Lake City’s westside will give back to the Glendale community at a spring cleanup up at Modesto Park on Saturday.

SALT LAKE CITY- A group of elite teenage soccer players from Salt Laake City’s westside has the opportunity of a lifetime to represent Utah in a regional tournament in Hawaii. They just need the community’s support make it happen.

The 20 local boys comprise an under-18 team of the Utah Development Academy (UDA)— a respected and successful youth soccer organization serving nearly 450 kids. The team won the competitive Utah State Cup tournament last November, qualifying them for the 2018 US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships in June.

But a $60,000 price tag for airfare and lodging stands in the way of their ambitious dream. The team members, most of whom have had little opportunity to travel outside the state, are seeking donations from the public in order to represent the community they love and compete. Donations are currently being accepted at www.udasoccer.org and www.paypal.me/udasoccer

The team, coaches, their families and the president of UDA will be at Modesto Park (1175 South 1000 West) at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 to cleanup the park and give back to the community. There will be plenty of opportunity for photos and interviews.
